More than 400,000 people visited Plaça de Catalunya, 42% of whom were from Barcelona, 18% from elsewhere in Catalonia, and 40% from abroad. The best-selling tapa was the burger from Nandu Jubany’s brand new Vacanal restaurant.
Tast a la Rambla concluded its 11th edition on 11 May, having sold 152,000 tastings to the over 400,000 visitors to Plaça de Catalunya in Barcelona from Thursday, 8 May onwards.
This total includes not only the gastronomic creations offered by the 32 restaurants and six bakeries, but also beverages. The majority of visitors came from Barcelona (42%), followed by 40% from abroad and 18% from the rest of Catalonia.
Nandu Jubany’s ‘Burger Vacanal’ was crowned the best-selling tapa of 2025, a project that debuted at Tast a la Rambla. Second place went to the ‘La Burger que le dio sentido a todo’ (The Burger that gave meaning to everything) tapa from Leña Barcelona restaurant, created by chef Dani García. Third place went to the ‘Quesabirria’ from La Mafia Mexicana restaurant, created by chef Renato Guiomar. Fourth place went to the ‘Paccheri, courgette, parmesan, truffle’ tapa by chef Michele Granziera. Fifth place went to the ‘Octopus and butifarra rice with red pepper aioli’ dish from Familia Nuri restaurant, led by chef Alex Jiménez.
In addition, Tast a la Rambla hosted 65 free activities, including tastings, musical performances and demonstrations of cooking techniques, all of which were fully booked.
Jordi Parra, director of Tast a la Rambla and Grup Gsr, praised the efforts of the restaurateurs and sponsors to bring their finest cuisine to the public space and transform it into a venue where people could gather and have fun for four days. Álex Balletbó, president of Amics de la Rambla, added that the good weather encouraged people to come and sample the high-quality cuisine on offer. The show cooking, concerts and gastronomic activities were also very well received.
This brings the 11^(th) edition of Tast a la Rambla to a close. The event also recognised the culinary work of chef Carles Gaig, who received the 2^(nd) Tast a la Rambla Award in recognition of his career and commitment to Catalan and Barcelona cuisine.”
