To celebrate 15 years of Moments**, Carme Ruscalleda and Raül Balam are offering an exceptional culinary experience: Els Moments, a special, limited-edition anniversary menu showcasing the most iconic creations of their career.
Available until the end of February, this menu enables guests to rediscover iconic dishes that form part of this chef duo’s gastronomic and emotional legacy.
The gastronomic experience is founded on pillars such as enthusiasm, homage to culinary memory, innovation, and creative freedom — values that represent the restaurant’s identity. Over the last fifteen years, artistic and cultural inspiration has shaped the philosophy of Moments**, with references to cinema, opera, travel, exotic landscapes, and even the legendary recipes of Gala and Dalí. As the chefs say, “This menu was the easiest to prepare, yet the most challenging to create. We have constructed a story that moves the heart.”
Els Moments consists of thirteen dishes selected from the most outstanding themed menus created between 2015 and 2023. These include: Foie micuit macaron from El Viaje (2015); caviar and quail eggs from Les Dîners de Gala (2023); Corn Study from Maravillas del Mundo (2021); Cod, Peppers and Olives from Felicidad (2021); , the Potro de los Pirineos from El Séptimo Arte (2017), the Arroz de gambas a la manera del Maresme from Sant Pol – Tokyo – Barcelona (2018), and the Pluma Ibérica y Olla Gitana from Ópera (2018). Each dish tells a part of Moments’ culinary story and how it has evolved over the last 15 years.
Three exclusive pairings accompany the menu: Gran Maridaje Catalán (Catalan wines, €195); Gran Maridaje 2009 (vintage from private collections, €295); and Los Nueve Icónicos de 2009 (an immersive journey through the nine best wines of 2009, with unique references from private collections, €1,050).
For our chefs, providing a unique experience extends beyond the kitchen. ‘We have always placed great importance on the welcome, so you feel as though the first person to greet you at Moments* has been waiting just for you. This project is full of beauty, and everything you touch is important: the glass, the tablecloth, the birthday card and its illustrations. There has to be more to it than just satisfying your appetite.” They also emphasise their commitment to local produce: ‘We champion local produce, farmers, livestock and fishing. We value production and take care of the table and the wine cellar. This rounds off the gastronomy.’
Moments** opened its doors in 2009, earning its first Michelin star in 2010 and its second in 2013. Located on Passeig de Gràcia, the Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona is a five-star deluxe hotel that combines luxury, wellness and high-level cuisine, with Moments as its culinary jewel.
