The BWW exhibition will feature a programme of tastings and activities to complement the winery and small producer representation, while #BWW Gastronomy will offer tapas and small dishes as part of its culinary offerings.<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The fifth edition of the Spanish wine fair Barcelona Wine Week<\/strong> will take place from 3 to 5 February<\/strong> and will feature some new additions. For the first time, it will be held in two pavilions at Fira de Barcelona’s Montju\u00efc venue to accommodate the 1,266 wineries<\/strong> from all over Spain that will be represented, ranging from large brands to small producers. In terms of figures, the fair will grow by 38% in terms of exhibition space to 10,000 m\u00b2<\/strong>, and by 33% in terms of the number of wineries<\/strong> present.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

A total of 81 Designations of Origin<\/strong> and other quality seals will be present at an edition that will showcase the latest developments in the sector through a programme of tastings and conferences featuring leading experts. These include Masters of Wine such as Doug Frost, Tim Atkin and Pedro Ballesteros, as well as renowned winemakers including Ra\u00fal P\u00e9rez, Fernando Mora, \u00c1ngel Anoc\u00edbar and Sara P\u00e9rez.<\/p>\n

The programme of activities will address trends such as the growing popularity of white wines, with contributions from sommeliers including M\u00aa Jos\u00e9 Huertas (Paco Roncero) and Rodrigo Brise\u00f1o (Disfrutar)<\/strong>, as well as urgent challenges facing the sector. Renowned wineries such as Abad\u00eda Retuerta, Matarromera, Ravent\u00f3s Codorn\u00edu and Perelada<\/strong> will discuss issues such as water use and responses to droughts. The visibility of women in wine is another pending issue that will be addressed at the \u2018Vinos de Autora\u2019 tasting, featuring winemakers such as Mayte Calvo (Bodegas Bilba\u00ednas), Laura Tragant (Codorn\u00edu) and Anne Cannan (Clos Figueres)<\/strong>. Additionally, BWW2025 will host the inaugural Isabel Mijares Awards, established by Mujeres del Vino to honour the top female winemaker, sommelier, viticulturist, and winery director, among other categories.<\/p>\n

#BWW Gastronomy<\/strong>
\nAs usual, visitors to the fair will have access to a space offering gastronomic tastings to complement the BWW experience. Throughout the three days of the fair, #BWW Gastronomy will offer a selection of tapas and small dishes, prepared each day by a leading Barcelona restaurant.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

On Monday, Le\u00f1a, owned by Dani Garc\u00eda and recently opened in Barcelona, will offer its selection. On Tuesday, Carles Abellan<\/strong> will take charge with his Tapas 24 restaurant<\/strong>, and on the last day of the fair, Catalina Gav\u00e0 Mar<\/strong>, a restaurant owned by \u00d2scar and Nicola Manresa<\/strong>, will be in charge. These gastronomic offerings will be paired with wines selected by C\u00e9sar C\u00e1novas,<\/strong> winner of the 2012 National Gastronomy Award, on all three days.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
