In the global context of the Barcelona World Race, one could find the outstanding Barcelona Food Experience. This singular event was a program linked to the holding of the Barcelona World Race and has autonomously shown live, to people from Barcelona and abroad and journalists supporting the event, all the gastronomic potential of Barcelona, considered to be one of the culinary Meccas in the world.
In the program of the BWR, one could find The Barcelona Food Experience, a choice, exclusive gastronomic exhibition of some of the most renowned Spanish chefs, all with an international appreciation.
Under de direction of Jordi Parra (Grup gsr – produccions de gastronomia) and Paco Roncero (chef at La Terraza del Casino restaurant and manager of the logistics of the catering department of El Bulli), five top quality banquets were cooked so that the guests were able to enjoy a menu consisting of the most applauded dishes by Andoni Luis Aduriz (Mugaritz restaurant), Jordi Roca (El Celler de Can Roca restaurant), Quique Dacosta (Quique Dacosta restaurant), Martín Berasategui (Martín Berasategui restaurant) and Dani García (Calima restaurant). These are genuine “chefs, masters and commanders” that add up to 14 Michelin Stars.
This great taste started with a display of avant-garde snacks and tapas designed by the abovementioned Paco Roncero. The cellar was illustrated by an exclusive marriage made of Inedit beer and Gramona wines in the appetizer, and Gramona sparkling wines in the dishes. These unique events, in formal lunches and dinners form, took place in the spectacular and historic rooms of La Llotja, Barcelona.
