Rías de Galicia celebrates its 25th birthday in style
Grup gsr designed and produced the party
The legendary Rías de Galicia celebrated on Monday night its silver jubilee with a party that gathered more than 600 people. This unmissable event needed a venue that rose to the occasion as for both infrastructure and space: the old Estrella Damm factory in Barcelona. Hundreds of important figures attended this great party to wish a happy birthday to the owners of the honoured restaurant, the Iglesias brothers.
Juan Carlos, Borja and Pedro Iglesias were the hosts in a cocktail with the presence of personages like the Mayor of Barcelona, Xavier Trias; his predecessor, Jordi Hereu, and the Councillor for Agriculture, Josep Maria Pelegrí. Apart from the institutional representatives, the Iglesias brothers wanted to share their silver jubilee with the most faithful customers, relatives, friends and some of the best chefs of the country. Some of the top-level chefs that attended the event were Ferran and Albert Adrià (also shareholders in Tickets), Carles Abellan (Comerç 24), Albert Raurich (Dos Palillos), Carles Gaig (Gaig), Ramos Freixa (Freixa), Hideki Matsuhisa (Koi Shunka), Raül Balam Ruscalleda (Moments) and Montse Estruch (El Cingle), among others.
There were music, dancing and food, including the unmissable Galician products: the octopus and the goose barnacles. The buffets were full of delicious varieties of the quality product defended by Rías de Galicia, which struck several guests. And there is nothing better to accompany a good meal than the Inedit Estrella Damm beer and a good wine, both giving way to the presentation of the new wardrobe of Rías de Galicia. The parade of the new uniform, designed by Cooked in Barcelona (Jordi Armengol), proved how fashion and cuisine can be combined.
Since an anniversary is not a complete celebration without the birthday cake, the Catalan patissier Christian Escribà was in charge of moving the guests with one of his special recipes, a cake that even the Iglesias brothers tasted with passion. The dessert was accompanied with cava, the sweets by Paco Roig and the ice-creams by Sandro Desii.
The red carpet, the lights, the photocall and the music were also there. Once again, Fede Sardá, from the renowned discotheque Luz de Gas, in Barcelona, was in charge of the liveliest soundtrack in the party. This celebration will remain in the memory of the Iglesias family and all the guests who shared with them their first twenty-five years in Rías de Galicia.
