Presentation of the wines Mas Blanch i Jové (Barcelona)
The presentation took place in “The Glass Room”
The winery Mas Blanch i Jové presented in Barcelona its project and its Saó wines with a bet on art through the launching of its project “La Viña de los Artistas” (“The Vineyard of the Artists” in Spanish), a space among the vines that will be used as an exhibition room in the open air.
The managing director of this family winery founded in 2006, Sara Jové, explained yesterday before almost one hundred guests that “land is their religion” and that they consider each one of their Saó bottles “as a small work of art made with the only purpose of making the person who drinks it enjoy”.
The relation between art and this winery with guarantee of origin from Costers del Segre is so intense, that even Josep Guinovart (Barcelona 1027-2007), a well-known Catalan artist, helped them design the winery and they found inspiration in him when they were creating the so-called “Viña de los Artistas”.
This winery, which will be devoted to Guinovart in its first year of life because of all he contributed with, is an open space where the invited artists will be able to express freely, surrounded by vines and forests.
“La Viña de los Artistas” will be officially inaugurated next Saturday, July the 3rd and will make its début with the sculpture by Guinovart “L’Orgue del Camp” (“The Organ in the Field” in Catalan), a piece that manages to set a soundtrack on the vineyards with the help of wind.
The winery Mas Blanch i Jové, that makes about 32,000 bottles per year, markets at present three wines: Saó Blanc, Saó Abrivat and Saó Expressiu. Their aim is to grow little by little, getting to produce 150,000 bottles per year within a term of about ten years.
