A greatest party organized by grup gsr.

The Comerç 24 restaurant, directed by Carles Abellán,, turned 10 years old and, to celebrate it, it organized a party that got more than one thousand people together on the 20th of July in the terrace of the Bravo 24 restaurant, also directed by Abellán, located in the Hotel W in Barcelona.

All the guests agreed to say that few parties such amazing as the one that took place yesterday are remembered in Barcelona. It is hardly surprising because Carles Abellán and Comerç 24’s 10th anniversary were the perfect ingredients for this party.

The atmosphere was liven up by the music by Fede Sardà, the owner of the renowned Luz de Gas discotheque, and a group of dancers and clowns who walked in many characters’ shoes and merged into a very heterogeneous audience: politicians like Xavier Trias, Katy Carreras or Assumpta Escarp; chefs like Nandu Jubany, Carles Gaig, Mey Hofmann, Carles Telejedor, Jean Louis Neichel, Montse Estruch or Fina Puigdevall, among others; and important figures in the gastronomic sphere like Rosa María Esteva.
Thanks to the room and kitchen team from Comerç 24, Tapas 24 and Bravos 24, everything turned out as planned: the terrace was plenty of all kinds of buffets, bars with soft drinks, Moritz beer and a wide range of wines, cavas and cocktails.

The buffets included stews, paellas, grilled meat, ham and other cold meat, cheese, shellfish, oysters, Carels Abellán’s vegetable garden, etc. Meanwhile, other dishes were coming out from the kitchen; some of them were the ham, mozzarella and truffle sandwich; the Iberian ham croquettes; or the sachet with fried whitebait.

Like in all birthday parties, the peak point of the night arrived with the cake, which could only be the work of one person, Christian Escribà, friend of Carles Abellán’s and the most surprising pastrycook in Barcelona.

Thanks to his philosophy based on managing emotions, Escribà captivated all the guests with a flying cake. Indeed, the cake was preceded by an emotional video dedicated to the team of Comerç 24, which introduced the triumphant entry of the cake into the terrace.

Covered by a wrapping of helium balloons and followed by the cooks, when the structure arrived in front of Carles Abellán, it shot off up to the sky above Barceloneta and showed an amazing cake with its own light made of small different desserts.

Carles Abellán, who was very touched, assured to be in his best moment, “a moment of aware maturity, enjoying our work, savouring the day by day, because now, ten years later, I am aware of how lucky I am to do all that we have done”.

Undoubtedly, this party was the best way of remembering a restaurant and a chef that have become a milestone in the Spanish cuisine.
