Catalonia will be the venue for the Euro-Toques National Meeting
150 chefs from the whole Spain will be in Barcelona
The Euro-Toques National Meeting will get some of the most important Spanish chefs together in Barcelona the 16th, 17th and 18th May. Some of these chefs are Ferran Adrià, Juan Mari Arzak, Andoni Luis Aduriz, Joan Roca and Pedro Subijana, among others.
The Euro-Toques chefs get together for the first time in Barcelona, which is not a coincidence, since “Catalonia is one of the regions that have contributed the most to launch Spain as a leading gastronomic power in the world”, according to Pedro Subijana, the chairman of Euro-Toques España.
The Meeting, taking place the 17th May in the facilities of Fundació Alícia and Món Sant Benet, will deal with the future of Spanish gastronomy and specifically with matters as the tourist campaign called “Saborear España” (“Savouring Spain”), the challenges of the new Faculty of Gastronomic Sciences, the Basque Culinary Center and the latest steps forward in culinary research made in Fundació Alícia.
During this meeting, which will be attended by nearly 150 Spanish chefs, they will announce the holder of the II Premio Euro-Toques Compromiso, a prize addressed to a person or an institution that protects with his/her/its work the European culinary heritage and the quality and flavour of food, that stimulates the good flavour of the culinary artisans, that supports a healthy diet and calls for a correct labeling of products.
The managing director of the Conselleria d’Agricultura, Alimentació i Acció Rural in the Generalitat de Catalunya, Mr. Joan Gené, will take part in Euro-Toques Meeting, an organization born in 1986 and founded by Pierre Romeyer, Paul Bocuse, Juan Mari Arzak and Pedro Subijana with the fundamental purpose of protecting the European culinary heritage.
